Yes. There is a nonrefundable entry fee per category entered. Payment can be made by credit card (Web or phone payment) or by check. Nominations will not be complete until payment is received.

| How do I get my login information to submit a nomination? |
| Please check the contact list to see if your organization already has a login. It also shows what editor should have received the information via e-mail. If your company is not listed or did not receive the e-mail, contact Cristal Williams Chancellor, 703-453-1138, cwilliams@asne.org. |

| Can we submit a nomination through the mail? |
| No. All nominations must be submitted online, although payment can be sent by check. The nomination will not be considered complete until payment is received. |

| Can entries from news services be submitted as they were distributed on the wire? |
| No, news services must submit published entries from the website or newspaper using the article. |

| Can backup material be submitted along with the entries? |
| Yes, but it will not be judged and must be marked as supplemental. Only the writing itself is judged. |

| Should photos and other graphics be included with the articles submitted in the writing categories? |
| The contest software forces text-only entries for articles that are submitted. PDFs or images of the articles as they appeared in print or online can be uploaded with the entry but, the entry will be judged solely on the writing. It is not mandatory to include the PDFs, nor will the entry be disqualified if they are included. |

| Can an individual be nominated for more than one category? |
| No, unless one of the nominations is as part of a team or for the Batten Medal. |

| Can two people from the same news organization be nominated for the same category? |
| No, unless they are part of a team that is being nominated. The Laventhol prize, local accountability reporting and diversity writing categories accept team entries. |

| As a ranking editor at my news organization, can I nominate myself? |
| Yes. |

| Do sidebars count as one separate article in an entry? |
| Yes. |

| Can freelancers submit entries? |
| No, work of freelancers is not permitted. To enter the contest, you must be a full or part-time employee of a news organization in the U.S. or, if outside the U.S., a news organization that is headed by an active member of ASNE. |
