Bob ZaltsbergBob Zaltsberg has been editor of The Herald-Times in Bloomington since 1985. Before that he worked as a reporter and in various editing positions at the newspaper, and as sports editor of the Plainfield (Ind.) Messenger. He is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and a native of Winchester, Ind.

In the community he serves on advisory boards of the Monroe County Humane Association, the Buskirk-Chumley Theatre, and the Lotus World Music and Arts Festival. He is a member of the Bloomington Rotary Club and the Bloomington Press Club.

For several years, he has been co-host of “Noon Edition,” a weekly program on radio station WFIU that explores local, regional and state issues.

Professionally, he has strong interest in the issues of newspaper readership, newsroom culture and journalism training, and has spoken often on those topics at state, regional and national seminars. He also has taught reporting classes at Indiana University and is a member of the American Society of Newspaper Editors.
