Steve Buttry is Director of Community Engagement for the metro news operation of Allbritton Communications. He has been editor of The Gazette in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and the Minot Daily News. He has been a reporter, editor, writing coach and innovation coach for seven news organizations, including the Des Moines Register, Kansas City Star and Times and Omaha World-Herald. Steve has pursued his journalism career in newsrooms, news stories and events in 43 states, eight Canadian provinces, Russia, Ecuador, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela.
