Bring Tennessee Forums to your community for tough education issues

 
ASNE has launched the Tennessee Tough Issues Forums to help communities use news literacy tools and technology to engage with education issues. This project is being managed by 
State Coordinator Joe Woolley. 

Communities interested in hosting a forum are invited to contact Woolley at

ASNE and APME are looking for donations for the live and silent auction to be held during the #EDITORS3D conference Oct. 16-18 at Stanford University.

We're accepting applications for the three upcoming Minority Leadership Institutes we are hosting this year. This is a great training opportunity for journalists to acquire newsroom leadership and management skills. Each institute has a different application deadline. ASNE roundtable at Engage Local concludes with big success

 
ASNE's National Community and News Literacy Roundtables Project held a successful two-part community event tied to the Engage Local conference June 15-16 in Newark, with more than 300 attendants.

Vocalize your support for FOIA reform, anti-SLAPP protections

 
ASNE continues to push forward on two key legislative issues that would benefit members and their publications around the country: a bill to reform the federal FOIA and a bill to create a federal anti-SLAPP statute for the first time ever. We recently joined letters that urge Congress to move each piece of legislation as soon as possible.
