Calls for nomination for the Robert G. McGruder Award for Diversity Leadership Submit your nomination

Submit your nominations for the 16th annual award honoring the distinguished career of Robert G. McGruder, a former executive editor of the Detroit Free Press, former managing editor of The Plain Dealer in Cleveland, graduate of Kent State University and relentless diversity champion. He died of cancer in April 2002.

ASNE invites up-and-coming news leaders with diverse backgrounds to apply for the Emerging Leaders Institute hosted by NABJ Executive Suite Aug. 8-9 at the 2017 NABJ Convention and Career Fair in New Orleans.Travel reimbursements of up to $500 per participant are available after the institute.

ASNE teaches investigative leadership at #IRE17

ASNE's leading investigations workshop June 21 at the 2017 Investigative Reporters and Editors Convention in Phoenix was a big success! More than 40 people from news organizations across all platforms attended and learned how to become an effective leader for investigative teams and projects. Sixteen panelists led engaging and informative sessions from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Barry Bingham Sr. Fellowship nominations due tomorrow

The 2017 Barry Bingham Sr. Fellowship is accepting nominations for an outstanding educator who has shown great efforts to encourage and mentor college students of color in the field of journalism. The winner will receive an honorarium of $1,000 to be used to "further work in progress or begin a new project."
