Free training for news leaders with diverse backgrounds

Apply by Aug. 18 for ASNE's free training Sept. 6-7 in Anaheim, California, and sharpen your core strategic leadership skills! 

The Emerging Leaders Institute at NAHJ, prior to the 2017 Excellence in Journalism Conference, will provide leadership and management training for new and mid-level news leaders with diverse backgrounds. Candidates across all news platforms will be considered.
Some of the topics on the program include coaching and feedback, leadership style, driving diversity in news platforms, goal-setting and strategy, financial leadership, and technology and innovation. Click here for a quick glance on the program from a previous institute.
Two nights of hotel and travel reimbursements of up to $500 per participant are available after the institute, thanks to the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Loyola University Chicago School of Communication and the American Press Institute.
