Online
resources for finding newspaper journalism jobs
Classified-type lists
- Berkeley's
J-Jobs print jobs page contains items culled from online sources like
mailing lists and newsgroups, among others.
- Copy
Editor, the newsletter for copy editors, maintains a listing of copy
editor and copy desk-related jobs.
- Craig's List is city
specific, but good. Look for writing jobs.
- Editor & Publisher,
the oldest journalism classified of them all, is online with its ads. Except
they're all mixed in with the other classifieds from the parent company's
other magazines.
- Jeff Gaulin's super
site of Canadian journalism jobs.
- JournalismJobs.com is
a metasite of journalism job information (including the ability to post your
resume).
- JournalismNext.com focuses
on jobs for minorities
- JournalismNow.com is
another metasite of journalism job information.
- JournalistUSA allows
employers to post jobs. It goes mainly after free-lancers and you have to
register.
- The National Diversity
Job Bank the nation's most comprehensive newspaper job listings web
site, is devoted to diversifying the industry. (You must register to use
the site).
- Newsroom Jobs
- The SunOasis site
is a little unusual: It looks for editorial jobs on numerous databases and
compiles them periodically.
