The 2010 dues are just $295 for the first applicant from a news organization, dean, director, endowed or distinguished chair from accredited journalism schools or leaders of journalism foundations. Additional qualifying members from your organization can apply for only $250.

The new dues structure means that you can renew or join for a fee that is significantly lower than in recent years. ASNE’s board of directors acted in recognition of the challenging economic climate, dramatic changes occurring in the news business and revisions to our bylaws.

Annual dues for retired members have been lowered to $125. Retired members now also have the option of paying a lifetime membership fee of $1,000. However, if you are a retired editor who is working in academe or elsewhere, please pay the regular membership dues of $295. Retired dues apply to those who have served journalism but are no longer in the work force.

If you're not a member yet, please fill out or download an application form now. Or, if you're ready to renew your membership, pay your dues online or download a dues form. You have the option of making payments in one, two or even four installments.

As you fill out your payment form, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to the ASNE Foundation, a 501(c) 3 organization that carries out ASNE’s projects and mission.

For pledges made by the end of 2009 (and paid in full by the end of 2010), the Knight Foundation generously matches every donation at a 2:3 ratio. That means a $100 gift translates to $166, a $150 gift to $250 and a $500 gift to $833.
